Switching, joining or dropping my Medicare Advantage Plan?

There are three different time once you are eligible for Medicare. Only one is open to annually but two other times when it is also possible.

Initial Enrollmect Period- Upon becoming eligible for Medicare during the 3 months before and 3 months after your 65th birthday you may opt for traditional Medicare or a Medicare Advantage plan.

GeneralEnrollment Period-If you have Medicare part A and you get Part B during the General Enrollment Period from January 1st to March 31st, you may enroll though coverage may not begin until July 1st.

Open Enrollment Period -October 15th until Dec 7th each year Medicare recipients are asked to reevaluate their coverage. Changes you select become effective January 1 of the following year.
